Welcome. We are glad you are home.
Welcome. We are glad you are home.
Welcome to Sunrise Seventh-day Adventist Church, a Christ-centered church committed to worship, service, and community. We are a diverse and growing congregation dedicated to sharing God’s love through meaningful worship, practical outreach, and intentional spiritual growth.
Rooted in the teachings of the Bible and the hope found in Jesus Christ, we seek to create a welcoming environment where individuals and families can grow in faith, discover purpose, and experience authentic Christian fellowship.

At Sunrise Seventh-day Adventist Church, our mission is to spread love and kindness through religious teachings. We believe that everyone deserves to feel the love of God and our goal is to make that possible for as many people as we can.

As part of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, we believe:

Sunrise Seventh-day Adventist Church is more than a place of worship—it is a family. We value:
Welcome
On behalf of the board of elders, church officers, and Sunrise Seventh-day Adventist Church
congregants, it is our joy to extend a warm welcome to you, our potential visitor, to our church's
website. We are a Seventh-day Adventist Church, a Christian denomination that observes the
Sabbath on Saturday. We eagerly invite you to join us in person for our Sabbath worship
services, which begin with Sabbath School at 9:15 am, Divine worship at 11:00 am, and
Adventist Youth Hour at 6:00 pm each Saturday. Remember, you are not just a visitor but a
potential member of our inclusive community! We believe in embracing diversity and
welcoming all who seek spiritual growth and community service.
Our church, deeply rooted in our community, is guided by the principle of putting love into
action. Our community services team, through the distribution of free food on the second and
fourth Wednesdays of every month, has made a significant impact on the lives of many in our
community. This impactful service, which has touched the lives of many, is an inspiring journey
we invite you to be a part of, where your contribution can make a real difference and inspire
others.
Our church has a rich history that has deeply impacted Broward County. For 14 years, we have
sponsored our annual Health Fair for the community, attracting over 600 people. This growth is a
testament to the community's active participation and support. The Health Fair, which provides
selected medical screenings, is a proud annual tradition held on the grounds of our church on the
third Sunday of March. We are excited to share this rich history with you and look forward to
your participation in our future initiatives.
Our church is home to the Pathfinder Club, a welcoming community open to all. The Pathfinder
The Club is a church-centered spiritual and recreational activity program for ages 10 to 15. It is designed to appeal to this age group, featuring activities that meet their needs and align with their interests. We welcome you to join us and be a part of this inclusive and accepting community where everyone is valued and respected.
Similarly, our church sponsors at least two evangelistic campaigns annually, and many people
give their lives to Jesus. We also have an active prison ministry outreach and other community
initiatives, such as providing back-to-school supplies for children.
We eagerly anticipate the possibility of your visit. Your presence would be a blessing to us, and
we look forward to the opportunity to welcome you into our community. If you have any
questions or need further information, please feel free to contact us at 954-742-7515. May God
bless you on your journey!
Many Blessings,
Dr. Jeffrey Thompson
Senior Pastor
On February 7, 1998, the Lauderhill Seventh-day Adventist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Leroy Liburd and Pastor Reynold Maxwell, established a branch Sabbath School at the Mirror Lake Elementary School. Elder Noel Graham, Elder Michael McIntosh, and the late Donald McKnight were the leaders. On May 8, 1999, the Sabbath School branch, also known as Sunrise Seventh-day Adventist Mission, became a growing company. On May 20, 2000, the Sunrise SDA Company became Sunrise Seventh-day Adventist Church with a membership of 114 members under the noble leadership of Pastor Reynold Maxwell. With a passion for soul-winning, Pastor Maxwell, First Elder Noel Graham (left), Personal Ministries Director Fred Chambers, and others supported several other evangelistic campaigns that came on stream. Otherwise, our pastors to date: Pastor Reynold Maxwell (1997 and portion of 1998), also (1999 - April 2005), Pastor Lenworth McLean (2005-2011), Pastor Michael Reid (2011-2017), Dr. Raulford Baptiste (2017-2023), and Dr. Jeffrey Thompson (July 2024 to present).
